We understand that transitions between parents or carers can sometimes be sensitive or challenging. At our contact centre, we offer supported and supervised handovers to ensure that children can move safely and calmly between adults, with minimal stress and in a neutral, welcoming environment.
Our trained team members are on hand to manage the handover process discreetly and sensitively, supporting both the child and the adults involved. Whether it’s to avoid direct contact between parties or to help ease anxieties, we work to ensure the focus remains on the child’s wellbeing at all times.
Handovers take place in our secure and friendly centre, allowing one party to arrive and leave before the other if needed, with staff present to supervise and guide the process.
This service is ideal for families where direct contact between adults is not appropriate or where court orders or professional recommendations suggest a structured handover is in the child’s best interests.
We’re here to provide peace of mind and practical support—helping children maintain important relationships in a safe and supportive way.

Supported contact provides a safe, welcoming environment where children can spend time with a parent or family member with the reassurance of a trained staff presence nearby. This type of contact is suitable when no significant safeguarding concerns are present, but where families may benefit from a little extra structure or support during visits.
Sessions take place in our child-friendly family rooms, equipped with toys, games, and creative activities to help encourage natural interaction and shared experiences. Our staff are on hand to offer encouragement and guidance as needed, without closely monitoring or intervening in the conversation or play—allowing families to build and maintain their relationships in a relaxed and positive setting.
Supported contact is often helpful in situations such as reintroducing contact after a break, helping to ease tensions or anxieties, or supporting families as they move towards more independent contact arrangements.
We work closely with families and referring professionals to ensure the environment and level of support meets each child’s best interests.

Supervised contact is a structured and closely monitored form of contact designed to ensure a child's safety and wellbeing at all times during their time with a parent or family member. This type of contact is typically recommended where there are concerns around safeguarding, risk, or the need for detailed observation.
At Oakleigh, supervised contact takes place in our warm, child-friendly family rooms, filled with toys, books, and activities to help create a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. A trained staff member is present throughout the session, observing the interaction, offering guidance where needed, and ensuring the experience remains safe and positive for everyone involved.
Our team will provide factual, impartial notes on each session, which can be shared with referring professionals such as local authorities, solicitors, or the courts as required.
Supervised contact offers reassurance and support for children and families during what can often be a challenging time, with the goal of building safe, healthy relationships in a secure environment.
We are committed to delivering this service with professionalism, compassion, and a child-centred approach.
